Are sports your thing? Have we got a class or league for you! Take a look at our sports programming format, specially desinged for the all sports loving athlete. Don't miss our exciting soccer, floor hockey and basketball leagues and classes for the athlete who has found his/her sports passion. For the higher level athlete, be sure to check out our sports specific intensive training session such as our Pre-Season Basketball Workout, Bootcamp for the Competitive Ahtlete, and One-on-One Personal Backetball, Soccer and Tennis Training. Baseball/Softball I Little Leaguers
Ages 4-5
A class designed to help your little leaguers develop catching, throwing, and beginning batting skills.

Baseball/Softball II Major Leaguers
Kindergarten
This class will incorporate all the baseball/softball skills – throwing, catching, batting, fielding - within a fun game environment.

Biddy Basketball I
Ages 4-5
Our “Jumpstart Basketball” program is a basic introduction to skills needed for beginning basketball including dribbling, passing, and shooting.

Biddy Basketball II
Kindergarten
An introduction to the game of basketball. Learn the basics of passing, dribbling, and shooting and apply them within the modified game.

Biddy Basketball III
Grades 1-2
An intermediate level basketball class focusing on the fundamental skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting with an emphasis on sportsmanship and team play as we learn to incorporate the basic skills into the game.

Cheerleading Rocks!
Grades 1-2
An intro to jumps, cheers and chants. Basic stunting and tumbling skills will further enhance your cheerleading know-how.

First Steps to Fitness
Grades 3-4
Get your child started on the right foot with this fun and educational introduction to everyday fitness.

Floor Hockey - NHL Street Devils I
Ages 4-5
Children learn the fundamentals of floor hockey and basic game concepts. Games will be played with learned skills integrated into team play.

Floor Hockey - NHL Street Devils II
Kindergarten
Skill development at a more challenging level with an emphasis on team play. Game concepts will be explored in preparation for particpation in league play.

Football Fundamentals
Kindergarten
An intro to football with an emphasis on the skills of throwing and catching while developing an understanding of the game.

Gymnastics I
Ages 3-4
A child’s first experience with the gymnastics basics of balance, strength, and coordination.

Gymnastics II
Ages 4-5
Improve strength, balance and flexibility while enhancing coordination through basic tumbling, apparatus skills, and fun activities.

Gymnastics III
Kindergarten
Children use basic skill movements to improve strength, balance, and flexibility. Work on the balance beam and bars will be included.

Gymnastics IV
Grades 1-2
Children will perfect basic gymnastics skills and create fun and exciting routines using different apparatus and tumbling skills. A performance for parents at the end of the session will highlight each child’s skills.

Gymnastics V
Grades 3-5
A creative and fun gymnastics class with a focus on self-confidence through movement and strength skills on tumbling mats and apparatus. A performance for parents at the end of the session will allow every child to display gymnastics skills learned.

Lacrosse I
Kindergarten
An introduction to the skills of lacrosse – passing, cradling, ground balls, etc. Game concepts will be introduced.

Lacrosse II
Grades 1-2
Further develop the skills of the fastest growing sport around! Game concepts will be introduced by playing the game in an indoor setting.

Rookie Sports I
Ages 3-4
A future athlete’s first class without parent where coordination skills needed for future sports participation will be practiced such as: running, throwing, kicking, and catching.

My Little Rookie and Me
Ages 3-4
Spend some exciting sports time with your little Rookie as your child learns an assotment of basic sports skills through lead-up games.

Rookie Sports II
Ages 4-5
Using a games approach, children will be introduced to more challenging sports skills. During Session I, tomorrow’s athletes will develop the skills for Fall sports and related lead-up games, while Session II will focus on Winter sports skills and modified games.

Soccer I – “Get Your Kicks”
Ages 4-5
Introduce your child to the basics of soccer – dribbling, passing and receiving – through a combination of fun and thematic games.

Soccer II – “Get Your Kicks”
Kindergarten
This instructional class will give your child an opportunity to take their dribbling, passing and receiving skills and further develop these ball control techniques through more challenging skills work and game situations.

Sports Club I
Kindergarten
A little bit of everything for the Fall/Winter sports season – soccer, lacrosse, hockey and basketball. A great opportunity to try them all and find your sports passion. Skills and lead-up games will be the focus.

Sports Club II
Grades 1-2
Floor hockey, basketball, soccer and lacrosse will all be covered with a greater emphasis on a games approach to skill development.

Sports N’ Splash I
Ages 4-5
This class includes a 45 minute mix of basketball, floor hockey, & other sports and games followed by 30 minutes of water activities that encourage children to develop their swim abilities using kickboards, noodles and other swim aids.

Swim N’ Gymnastics III
Grades 1-2
Forty-five minutes of gymnastics including tumbling and apparatus work followed by 30 minutes of water activities that encourage children to develop their swim abilities using kick-boards, noodles and other swim aids.

Total Golf Adventures (TGA)
Grades K-3, Grades 4-8
TGA Junior Golf Program has taught this lifelong sport to over 1200 Bergen County youth. The TGA curriculum was developed by certified PGA golf professionals in conjunction with child development experts. As students advance through the five-level program, they will learn basics and fundamentals of the sport, all while being prepared to play on the golf course. The TGA program is tailored to all ages and skill levels. TGA provides all the equipment.

Tae Kwon Do with Parent
Ages 3-4
This 30-minute class is packed with exercises and kicking to help our youngest students learn the basics of Tae Kwon Do while having fun with mom or dad.

Tae Kwon Do Little Dragons
Ages 4-5
This class is for students (without parents) who will learn many different kicks, blocks and punches with the “Yes, I Can!” attitude.

Tae Kwon Do Dragons
Grades K-1
This 45-minute class offers traditional Tae Kwon Do training: kicks, punches, blocks, and self defense. Promotes respect and discipline.

Tae Kwon Do Tigers
Grades 2 & Up
Our 45-minute class provides students with a knowledge of Tae Kwon Do and skills to live by, geared toward the more serious Tae Kwon Do students.

Cross Country Clinic
Grades 1-9
Session I -Tuesdays & Thursdays from 4-5pm 7 weeks
Introduction and conditioning for cross country and other endurance sports. Includes stretching, running drills, and specific weight training. Proper training techniques will be emphasized. Clinic to be held at Wyckoff Community Park.
Full Members: $100
Basic Memeber: $130

Intro to Track and Field Skills and Conditioning
Grades 3-8
Session II -Mondays & Wednesdays from 4-5pm 7 weeks
Drills and techniques for various track and field events will be explored as well as the proper stretching, light weight lifting, and conditioning strategies for success during the indoor winter season and on into the spring. Full Members: $100 Basic Members: $130

Tennis I – Indoors
Ages 4-5
In our indoor program, the Wyckoff Y’s tennis pro will introduce the basics of forehand and backhand strokes.

Tennis Aces I – Indoors
Ages 4-5
Further develop your forehand and backhand strokes learned in Tennis I and be introduced to volleys at the Wyckoff Y’s new indoor tennis “court.”

Wrestling Clinic
Grades 3-8, Wed., 5:30-6:15pm
Takedowns, shooting techniques, pinning combinations, escapes and more. We’ll cover it all to get you ready for the winter wrestling season.

Volleyball Clinic
Grades 3-6
Pass, Set, Spike! Learn these skills as well as the basic strategies of volleyball.

Volleyball – Bump It Up Clinic
Grades 7-8, Grades 9-11
Learn the skills and strategies of competitive volleyball. In addition to passing and bumping, setting, and spiking, the more competitive level skills of digs, blocking and serving will be covered.

Are you a serious hoops player? Then this clinic is for you, presented by Taryn Scinto, four year Immaculate Heart Academy and Union College player and the Y boys 7-8 grade Traveling Basketball Coach. Focus on shooting, dribbling, passing and rebounding.

Traveling Basketball Teams
Grades 5-6, 7-8
Tryout for our traveling teams, which compete in the NJYMCA league. League
games will be played from Dec.-March. Mandatory attendance at all practices and games required. Call Taryn Scinto at Ext. 133 for more information.

Punt, Pass & Kick Contest
Saturday, Sept. 11, 9am-12pm Wyckoff Memorial Field The NFL Punt, Pass & Kick program is a national skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 15 to compete separately against their peers. Girls and boys in five separate age division compete against each other in punting, passing and place kicking in a fun and engaging forum. Watch for details from the Y’s Sports Department. Free for all.


Bob Hurley Players’ Clinic
