Judo has been an Olympic sport since 1964. It can be described as a special form of wrestling that emphasizes throws as well as pins, chokes, and arm locks which can also be used for self-defense. In fact, Judo is best known for its spectacular throwing techniques. Judo emphasizes sport, fun and full physical activity for top conditioning. Judo provides the means for learning and improving one's self physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
Ages 7 & up
This class is similar to adult Judo class except arm locks and choking techniques are not taught. Judo training improves an individual's aerobic capacity, speed, power, strength, coordination, balance, agility, and flexibility with disciplined training, which benefits the spirit and self-confidence. We give meditation training for learning skills as well as mental discipline and physical behavior. Our 1996 Atlanta Olympians, World Champions winner and international champions were trained in this class.
